Photographers and other resources
I think every photographer is constantly learning and exploring. That is both my joy and frustration as I continue my journey.  The joy comes from "getting it" while the frustration can sometimes come from the struggle to get there. One of the key ways I learn is from other photographers. Either directly through education or just by viewing their photography and understanding how they "got the shot." Below are links to some of these photographers and other resources I use. You can also take a look at the photographers I follow on my Instagram feed (link above) who have captured my interest.
Photographers
There are far too many photographers out there for me to list here. I've listed a few that I know and have helped me build my skills. Please note that since I focus mainly on the natural world, that's the type of photographers I tend to gravitate towards.
Phil is a member of one of my photography clubs, is a great photographer and fantastic teacher.  I have taken classes from him and he has acted as a mentor to me to help me improve my skills.  Phil is an avid birder and he and his wife give classes on photography, birding and travel through NJ Audubon and other organizations.
David is also a member of one of my photography clubs and like Phil, a great photographer and teacher. I've also taken classes from David and he has provided feedback on my photography whenever I asked. David gives classes through a number of different organizations.
I've taken courses with Joe at different expos in the area and I always have found him to be a great teacher, photographer and just good guy. He offers different workshops, trips and training videos.
I've included these two photographers together because they are partners in all aspects of their lives. While I've attended a presentation by Christina, I've never met them nor taken a class but I am always awed by their photography and their social commitment.  Please check them out and the charity they formed, SeaLegacy, to help address the challenges our oceans face.
